Temporary Road Closure Notices

EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURES

In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to Burst water main the use by vehicles of the Hilgay Road from 600m north-west of its junction with Station Road for 50m north-westwards in the PARISH OF WEST DEREHAM will be temporarily prohibited from 18th to 22nd March 2024 for the duration of the works, expected to be about 5 days within the period.

This Notice has a maximum duration of 21 days. Where exceptional circumstances are encountered during the performance of the works specified in this Notice, the operational period of this Notice may become extended by issuing an Order or further Notice to allow completion of the works for a maximum duration of 18 months.

Alternative route is via: Hilgay Road, Ryston Road, The Row, Church Road.


LOCAL PLANNED ROAD CLOSURES

Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (STRO10971) affecting the A1065 Brandon Road from its junction with C110 Great Cressingham Road to its junction with C108 Bodney Road (the “Road”) in the Parish of Hilhorough to facilitate surface dressing works by Norfolk County Council, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be from 10th June to 6th July 2024, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 6th January 2025 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

Alternative route is via: A1065 Brandon Road/ London Street/ Station Road/ Castle Acre Road, A47 Swaffham Bypass, A1122 Downham Road/ Swaffham Road/ Downham Road, A134 Downham Road/ Lynn Road/ Stoke Road/ Stoke Ferry Bypass/ Whittington Hill/ Thetford Road/ Cranwich Road/ Lynn Road/ Cranwich Road, A1065 Swaffham Road/ Brandon Road (Hilborough, Ickburgh, Barton Bendish, Stoke Ferry, Swaffham, Beachamwell, Stradsett, Fincham, Great Cressingham, Northwold, Mundford, West Dereham, Cranwich, Cockley Cley, Wereham).

Vehicular access will be permitted to a final destination in the Road where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.

The Order shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works when the closure is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 6th January 2025 without further notice.

If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the Order is effective.

A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (WTRO4848) affecting the 1) Lynn Road from its junction with Main Road for 75m northwards and 75m southwards and 2) Main Road from its junction with Lynn Road for 75m westwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council resurfacing works.

The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) between 20:00 and 05:00 from 13th to 16th May 2024 for the duration of the works expected to be about 4 nights within the period.

Alternative route is via: A10 Downham – Eastern Bypass/ Lynn Road/ Fordham Bypass/ Main Road, Southery Bypass, Lynn Road, Feltwell Road, Decoy Road, College Road, Wereham Bypass (Stradsett, Denver, Downham Market, Southery Hilgay Fordham, Wimbotsham Ryston West Dereham, Crimplesham, Wereham, Methwold)


NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (WTRO4940) affecting the A1122 from its junction with A134 Lynn Road to its junction with Fincham Road in the PARISH OF FINCHAM to facilitate surfacing and stud replacement works.

The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 21st May to 15th June 2024 only whilst signs indicating closures are in place.

Alternative route is via: Downham Road, High Street, Main Road, Swaffham Road, Lynn Road, A47, Whitsands Road, Cley Road, Theatre Street, Globe Hill, London Street, Watton Road, Brandon Road, Redland Road, South Pickenham Road, Crown Road, Swaffham Road Roundabout, Cranwich Road, Thetford Road, Whittington Hill, Stoke Ferry Bypass A134, Stoke Road (Hilborough , Ickburgh , Barton Bendish , Stoke Ferry, Swaffham, Beachamwell Stradsett , Fincham Great Cressingham , Northwold , Mundford, West Dereham, Cranwich, Cockley Cley, Wereham).


Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (WTRO4932) affecting the Lynn Road/ Main Road from its junction with A134 Stoke Road to its junction with Gravelhill Lane (the “Road”) in the PARISHES OF TOTTENHILL AND WEST WINCH to facilitate surface dressing and associated works, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be from 2nd to 11th June 2024, but may continue to be closed until the 23rd July 2024 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

Vehicular access will be permitted to a final destination in the Road where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.

The Order shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works when the closure is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 23rd July 2024 without further notice.

If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the Order is effective.
